January 28, 2008 -- Covenant House New York's Mentor Department Receives Award
This past week, the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of New York City honored Covenant House New York’s Mentor Department. In the 10th Anniversary of The Mentoring Supervisor Certificate Program, Covenant House New York’s Mentor Program received the Award for Outstanding Mentoring Program – Longevity Award.
“It is an extreme honor to be recognized for our continued efforts in matching New Yorkers with our young people. Our mentoring program has helped a lot of our kids with employment opportunities and other vital life skills,” stated Bruce J. Henry, Executive Director of Covenant House New York. At the present moment, the Mentor Department has more than 40 young people involved in the program.
