December 20, 2006 -- Communities Joining Together for the Holidays

During the holiday season, Covenant House New York understands how important it is to have special events that bring everyone together to share the Christmas spirit. Yesterday, the Brooklyn Resource Center opened its doors to the local community and the entire Covenant House family. Together, everyone shared a variety of food, donated by local restaurants, while sharing stories and enjoying each other’s company. This year’s Christmas pasty was very special to our Brooklyn facility with its expansion. The Regional Training Center, Covenant House New York’s vocational and educational training service, officially moved from its Manhattan location in order to serve more youth within these communities.

The Community Christmas Party was a huge success and an enjoyable afternoon. Bruce J. Henry, executive director for Covenant House New York, spent the afternoon talking with the youth and expressing his happiness in their successes throughout the year. “It is always a special time to gather together and see first hand how well the young people are doing. It always reminds me how successful the youth can be given the opportunity” stated Mr. Henry.
