December 20, 2006 -- Covenant House New York Spreading the Christmas Spirit
On December 15th, Covenant House New York held its first ever ‘Christmas Show.’ With more than a hundred young people in attendance, the show kicked off with a special performance by Grammy Award Winning Brooklyn Tabernacle’s Youth Choir. The theme of the show became evident once two young people from Covenant House (Devin Snow and Dwalyn Blake) performed a musical number dedicated to the birth of Jesus Christ. The evening was not about receiving gifts on Christmas rather the true meaning of Christmas and the overall concept of giving and sharing with one another.
With that said, it did not stop Santa Claus from making a special guest appearance, taking pictures, handing out toys, and eating cookies. Overall, the evening was a huge success and could not have been possible without the commitment from the performers and Covenant House’s Volunteer Department. Special thanks go to the Christian Fellowship Church for performing a musical play entitled “The Shepard and the Lamb.”
