November 23, 2006 -- Providing Thanksgiving Cheer to Senior Citizens

Covenant House New York provided local senior citizens a fantastic Thanksgiving lunch again this year. This event is always one of the highlights of our holiday season.

More than 200 individuals, taking a break from their daily routines, came to Covenant House to interact with our young people. There is no better way to thank the community that has housed Covenant House for more than 18 years than by having a holiday meal together.

Covenant House staff worked all morning to prepare the food and our young people served the meals to the senior citizens. The luncheon gave our young people an opportunity to interact with local residents and to develop a sense of community.
