On June 15, 2006 Covenant House gathered together to celebrate the service of a number of its current staff. To show its appreciation, Covenant House held a luncheon followed by an award ceremony for those employed for five, ten, fifteen, twenty, and twenty-five years. Although this celebration singled out a handful of individuals who have dedicated their lives to Covenant House and its mission, the day was focused on its entire staff. For those who received an award, Covenant House thanks you for all of your hard work and dedication; especially to those Covenant House New York staff members who have been with us for twenty-five years: Jose Cruz, Annie McCormick, and Horace Wells. As Bruce J. Henry, Executive Director for Covenant House New York so elegantly pointed out during the ceremony, “Knowing that the work here is difficult at times, it is important that each of you understand the difference you make in our kids lives and that without you, Covenant House and its youth would not be where its today.”
