February 1, 2006 -- Six youth graduate from CNA training program
On January 20, 2006, Covenant House New York graduated six young ladies from its State Certified Nurse’s Aide Training Program. This graduating class (29th cycle) once again showcased the ongoing success of the training program and the need for more nurse’s aides. At the ceremony, Bruce J. Henry, Executive Director of Covenant House, gave an inspirational talk of the importance of accomplishing goals and never giving up on individual beliefs. This cycle’s keynote speaker was Margaret Wyke, HSD Manager, RN, MPA. Ms. Wyke conducted numerous class sessions throughout the students’ training. She spoke about what it took to complete the training program and reminded the students that the graduation was only the beginning of their training. After the students received their certificates, they reflected for a few minutes on their experiences throughout the training program. The ceremony highlighted the successes of the six new nurse’s aides who are ready to take the next step in their careers. Congratulations to all of our graduates in your new endeavors!
